Hays Research has chosen a selection of questions from a scientific survey conducted across the State of Alaska on April 4-5 2007 to release to the public.  Every month Hays Research Group conducts an omnibus survey called 'Opinion Counts' where our customers may purchase individual questions in the survey at a minimal cost. Statewide surveys are conducted monthly.

In this survey 406 respondents were asked their opinion on a variety of public figures and institutions, as well as their opinion on the Pebble Mine Project, the Governor's gas line incentive proposal, The Gravina Access Highway, and the Iraq troop withdrawl.  The margin of error for this survey is +/- 4.9 % with a 95% confidence interval.  For a complete detailed methodology for this survey please click here.  Please scroll down to view the results of this survey.

Question 8

Although there is no dedicated source of funding for the Gravina Bridge (in Ketchikan) the State is currently moving ahead with the Gravina Access Highway - a 3.2 mile road that will connect the bridge to the airport. The contract for this road is 25.7 million dollars. Do you support spending approximately 8 million dollars per mile to build the Gravina Access Highway now (before funding is secured for the bridge project?)
