Alaska Statewide 'Opinion Counts' Survey Results

Hays Research has chosen a selection of questions from a scientific survey conducted in the State of Alaska on June 14-15 2007 to release to the public.  Every month Hays Research Group conducts an omnibus survey called 'Opinion Counts' which enable our customers may purchase individual questions in the survey at a minimal cost. Statewide surveys are conducted monthly as well as surveys within the Municipality of Anchorage in the months leading up to the Municipal election.

In this survey 401 respondents were asked their opinion of Mark Begich, Sarah Palin, Don Young, and Ted Stevens.  We also included questions about the recent corruption investigations and how they may affect the voter's perception of the candidates.

Published news reports have identified former State Senator Ben Stevens, son of U.S. Senator Ted Stevens as one of the legislators referenced in the Bill Allen/Veco indictment as receiving bribes. Recent news accounts have confirmed that the FBI is investigating Senator Ted Steven's home remodel which was undertaken by Veco. Do these alleged ties to Veco unfavorably influence your opinion of Ted Stevens?
