Polling
Hays Research Group has established itself as a leader in polling in Alaska. We have conducted polls in nearly every political race in Alaska whether it be a local, state, or national election. With more than 20 years experience in Alaskan politics, we have the know how to get the most useful information for your campaign or issue.
An opinion poll is a scientific survey designed to measure the views of a specific group on a specific topic at a specific point in time – for example, in the case of an election, to measure the views of the electorate at the time the interviewing was done. Public opinion and voting intentions tend to fluctuate rapidly in final days before an election - more so in tight election races and controversial referendums. Individual polling results should not be considered predictive – rather they should be viewed as a benchmark of the voters’ positions at that moment in time, within the context of the news and media taking place at that moment in time. For more predictive analysis, a series of polls taken over a defined spectrum of time, asking identical questions will reveal trends that viewed in the aggregate can be useful for predictive purposes and mid-course campaign strategy adjustments.
